Family and friends gathered last weekend for the home finale of the women's soccer season to watch Augustana defeat Minnesota-Duluth 1-0, and then lose to Bemidji State 0-1.

"It's bittersweet knowing that our time at Augustana is coming to an end," senior Jill Goodrich said.  "It's weird how fast it goes."

Goodrich has played defense for the Vikings for four seasons, helping them compile a 13-6-1 record in 2008, their most successful season ever.

While at Augustana, the seniors have watched the dream of having an on-campus field come true.

"It's great to be playing on campus," Goodrich said.

This year's group was also head coach Brandon Barkus' first recruiting class at Augustana.

"You feel for these girls," Barkus said.  "They've played hard all four years; it'll be tough to watch them leave."

Seniors include Jill Goodrich, Kelli Goodrich, Steph Goos, Jenna Doerneman, Ciara Godfrey, Katie Shandri and Alex Forder.

With four games remaining, the Vikings are tied for sixth in the conference and hoping for a strong finish in order to make the playoffs.

"We have some tough games to finish the year out," Barkus said. "Hopefully we can get those victories."

Shandri currently leads the team with four goals, but suffered a season-ending knee injury earlier this season.

Goos and Jill Goodrich were named as two of the captains for this year's team.
