A blue-skinned baby falls to Earth only to be brought up by cheerful convicts. And that is only the beginning of a new animated movie from DreamWorks called Megamind.
This is probably the first movie ever in which the supervillain manages to kill the superhero during the first ten minutes of storytelling.
Megamind (Will Ferrell), the blue-skinned egghead villain, kills Metro Man (Brad Pitt), the city's protector, faster than a speeding bullet, thus turning Megacity into an abyss of lawlessness, anarchy and simple childishness.
But Megamind soon finds himself bored with the ease of attacking the city. Without Metro Man, all of the ingeniously organized actions of the supervillain become meaningless.
So, to add some color to his boring life, Megamind decides to create a new superhero named Tighten (Jonah Hill) to resurrect the eternal battle between good and evil. Unsurprisingly, the experiment is unsuccessful.
All of this, however, is only a backdrop for an unorthodox but beautiful love story between Megamind and reporter Roxanne Ritchi (Tina Fey).
This novel idea of the victory of the supervillain and its consequences unravels itself in a sea of the comedic situations accompanied by fascinating and entertaining scenes.
Megamind opens in theaters today.
