It's that time again. It's time for the avid readers and the music connoisseurs across campus who are penny-pinching their way to the latest page-turner or rockin' album to breath a sigh of relief. Affordable satisfaction has returned.

The Augustana College Library Associates will present their ninth annual "Books and More Sale" April 14-15.

The first book sale was held to raise money for the library renovation, after the Center for Western Studies built its new building and left half of the lower level of the library empty.

"We might not have continued the sale after the first year or so, except that the student response was so enthusiastic, we got hooked," Library Director Ronelle Thompson said. "It is great fun to see students come and load up with books, CDs, etc. and get change back from $10 or $5. They leave so excited!"

Starting this year, the funds from the sale, which usually totals about $3,000, will support the Associates' author events and A Winter's Tale: an evening of literature and music.

All of the items in the sale are gifts from the Augustana community, Library Associates members and Sioux Falls community members who have heard about the sale.

"The sale encourages reading and collecting and recycling," Thompson said. "How cool is that and, you can't beat the prices."

The sale begins Thursday, April morning in the Center for Western Studies at 8 a.m. with an early bird sale just for the Augustana community. It will open to the general public Thursday, April 14, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, April 15, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
