Dear Abbey,

I'm worried about my roommate. She has stopped talking to me since we got back from interim, is missing classes, and I'm not sure she is eating. Is there something I can do to help her? We're not best friends, so I don't want to be nosy, but I feel like I should ask if there's something wrong.

--Concerned

Dear Concerned,

It sounds like you could have a somewhat serious problem on your hands. While it is common for roommates to get into arguments, it sounds strange that she would be ignoring you for almost a month so far, and the idea that she may not be eating is especially scary. I know this may sound like a cop-out but it is situations like these that are the reason our school employs counselors. You can anonymously report your concern to the counselors and they can reach out to your roommate. If that doesn't sound like something you are interested in, try talking to your P.A. The information you share with them is confidential and they may be able to help you help them. Good luck!

Dear Abbey,

My day is packed with classes and work and studying, but I still want to try and make time to get a good workout in. Any ideas for strength building activities I can do outside of the Elmen building that won't leave me so exhuasted that I'm too tried to get anything else done?

--Workout Wanted

Dear Workout,

A few exercises that you can do anytime are: push-ups, sit-ups, body squats, tricep dips (the height of your desk works great for this exercise), lunges. If you are looking for cardio, a few good workouts are: jumping jacks, burpies (start in a push up position, bring your feet to your hands, stand up and jump, then arms down, back into a push up position and repeat). These are all simple things you can do while doing homework, watching tv, or just during down time at work. Good luck!
